Hon’ble Chairman, Public Accounts Committee, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Shri Sonam Tshering Venchungpa, participated in the Conference of Chairpersons in Keralam.
The two day long National conference of Chairpersons of the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament of India and State/UT Legislatures was held on 3rd and 4th November 2026 in Thiruvananthapuram, Keralam.
Shri Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, inaugurated the conference, followed by a Plenary Session. The theme “Audit, Accountability and good governance: The evolving role of the Public Accounts Committee”
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerelam, Shri V.D. Satheesan, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh, Hon’ble Speaker Keralam Legislative Assembly Shri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Keralam Legislative Assembly Smt. Shanimol Osman, Hon’ble Chairperson, Public Accounts Committee, Parliament of India, Shri K.C Vanugopal, Hon’ble Chairperson, Public Accounts Committee of Keralam Legislative Assembly, Shri K.N Balagopal, Chairpersons and Members of Public Accounts Committee of Parliament and State/UT Legisltures and other distinguished dignitaries graced the Inaugural Function.
Shri Sonam Tshering Venchungpa, Hon’ble Chairman PAC, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, participated in the plenary session and highlighted the need for the Public Accounts Committees to adapt their methods of scrutiny to the emerging challenges in public governance.
Hon’ble Chairman was accompanied by Additional Secretary, Committee, Shri Megraj Gurung and Joint Secretary, Committee, Shri A.T. Lepcha.
