Namchi, 4 November: Food Safety Officer of Namchi in collaboration with Microbiologist, Assistant Chemist and Assistant Researcher from the State Food Testing Laboratory (SFTL) with Food Safety staff conducted two days inspections of sweet shops and manufacturing units of Jorethang bazaar and surrounding areas.
The inspection was conducted in view of the upcoming Diwali festive season and during the inspection, samples of sweets and manufactured food items along with water has been lifted and sent for analysis.
Further, on spot testing of cooking oil and pH of drinking water was also tested and action against the discrepancies and violations found will be initiated under Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 and Rules & Regulation,2011 there under.
