Namchi, 5 October: The District-Level Youth Parliament 2026 – Second Edition, organised by the SKM Students’ Wing, Government of Sikkim, was successfully conducted today among colleges of Namchi District.
The programme provided a valuable platform for college students to express their views on contemporary issues, demonstrate their leadership abilities, and develop parliamentary speaking skills.
During the district-level competition, two students from SGC Namchi and one student from Sikkim Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), Chisopani, were selected to participate in the State-Level Youth Parliament Competition 2026, which is scheduled to be held at the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Gangtok, on 15 October 2026.
Representing SIST, Mr. Menlom Lepcha (CSEC02) secured his position through his impressive performance and will represent the institution at the state-level competition. His selection is a matter of great pride for SIST Chisopani and is a significant achievement for the institution and its student community.
Dr. C. P. Khatiwada, who accompanied Mr. Menlom Lepcha as the escort teacher from SIST, provided continuous guidance and support during his preparation.
