The Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana is a flagship welfare initiative of the Government of Sikkim aimed at strengthening the financial security, dignity and empowerment of eligible mothers. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), the scheme provides annual financial assistance of ₹40,000 to eligible beneficiaries, disbursed in two instalments of ₹20,000 each.
The financial assistance is intended to support mothers in meeting essential family needs, including children’s education, household requirements and livelihood-oriented activities such as small-scale agriculture and other income-generating initiatives.
The scheme reflects the State Government’s continued focus on recognising the vital role of mothers in strengthening families and communities.
Through direct financial assistance and women-centric welfare measures, the initiative seeks to promote greater financial security, dignity and empowerment among mothers across Sikkim.
The Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana also forms part of the State Government’s broader efforts towards women’s welfare and empowerment, alongside initiatives such as Aama Samman Diwas, which recognises and celebrates the invaluable contribution of mothers across the State.
Through such welfare initiatives, the Government continues its efforts towards strengthening families, supporting mothers and promoting inclusive development across Sikkim.
Empowering an Aama means strengthening a family; strengthening families means building a stronger Sikkim.
