Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme Held at Dentam-Mangmoo
Gyalshing, September 28:
The District Industries Centre (DIC), Gyalshing, under the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, organised a district-level awareness programme on State and Central Government schemes for entrepreneurship development at Dentam-Mangmoo GPU Hall today.
The programme was aimed at creating awareness among educated unemployed youth, aspiring entrepreneurs and existing entrepreneurs about various Government schemes, financial assistance, banking facilities and institutional support available for establishing and developing enterprises.
Mr Dinesh Gurung, Zilla Panchayat, Dentam-Mangmoo, graced the programme as the Chief Guest. The programme was also attended by Ms Munna Maya Gurung, Panchayat President, Sopakha GPU; Mr Mahendra Gurung, Panchayat President, Mangmoo-Dentam GPU; and Mr AD Rai, Joint Director-cum-General Manager, DIC, Gyalshing.
The technical sessions covered the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Mr. Dhiraj Jairu, Inspector, DIC Gyalshing, provided an extensive overview of the scheme and its provisions. Mr Karsang Moktan, Branch Manager, Central Bank of India, Dentam Branch, conducted a session on bank finance, working capital management, bookkeeping and MUDRA loans.
Mr Ivan Gurung, JE/Inspector, DIC, Gyalshing, conducted sessions on Udyam Registration, Digital Commerce and GST, while Mr Dikchand Basnet, a successful PMEGP beneficiary, shared his entrepreneurial experience with the participants.
The technical sessions were followed by an interactive question and answer session, during which participants sought clarification on Government schemes, financial assistance and procedures related to entrepreneurship development.
The programme was the second such awareness initiative organised by DIC, Gyalshing, following the first programme held at Gyalshing Omchung GPU on September 23.
The two programmes formed part of the continued efforts of DIC, Gyalshing, to strengthen awareness and facilitate access to Government schemes, financial assistance and institutional support among prospective and existing entrepreneurs across Gyalshing District.
