The Ad Hoc Committee of the Sikkim Paralympic Association called a coordination meeting today at Paljor Stadium’s Conference Hall, Gangtok. The meeting was chaired by the Ad Hoc Committee’s President, Dr. R. B. Biswakarma. The agenda discussed in the meeting focused on the upcoming 3rd North East Para Games to be held in Guwahati, Assam, in the month of November 2026 and the Sikkim team’s preparations for the said event.
The Association also discussed the strategy for the State Championship before the mega North East Games, which is vital for the preparation for the upcoming Khelo India Para Games in Delhi in December 2026.
Mr. Y. N. Sapota, Technical Director of the Ad Hoc Committee, highlighted the roadmap for upcoming activities of the Association, and Mr. Mahesh Pokrel talked about the feasibility of para-sports in the state for the upcoming State Championship.
Dr. Biswakarma encouraged the para-athletes to focus on their respective para-sports, targeting representing Sikkim State at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in India in 2030.
The representatives from the YUVA Sporting Club and Sikkim Muaythai Association, associated partners of the Sikkim Paralympic Association, were also present at the meeting and shared their valuable input.
