State Chief Information Commissioner Kuber Bhandari Attends National Conference on RTI Operational Uniformity.
Hyderabad, 10-11 September 2026:
The Hon’ble State Chief Information Commissioner, Sikkim, Shri Kuber Bhandari, attended the National Conference on “RTI: Operational Uniformity in Implementation: Challenges and Solutions”, held on 10–11 September 2026 at the Administrative College of India, Hyderabad.
The conference was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla The conference had presence of Central Chief Information Commissioner , State Chief Information Commissioners, Information Commissioners, the Chairman and Director General of Administrative College of India , Hyderabad , former Chief Information Commissioners associated with the Right to Information regime from across the country.
The conference was sponsored by the National Federation of Information Commissioners in India (NFICI), New Delhi, and jointly organised by Telegana Information Commission C and CPPGP-Administrative Staff College of India.
The conference provided a significant national platform for deliberations on achieving greater operational uniformity, transparency, consistency and effectiveness in the implementation of the Right to Information Act.
Key Sessions included :
1. Harmonising Conflicting Public Interests,
2. RTI as an Instrument of Good Governance,
3. Critical Issues and Solutions in Implementation of RTI,
4. Two decades of adjudication: Achievements, gaps and the road ahead,
5. Information Commissions: Organisational arrangements, technological evolution and financial autonomy.
The conference also included sharing the best practices on technological evolution, hearing procedures and handling of backlog cases and dealing with Complaints and non-compliances.
The Valedictory Session included feedback from Chief Information Commissioners, concluding remarks by Shri R.K. Goyal, Central Chief Information Commissioner, and memento presentations by the Chairman and DG of the Administrative Staff College of India.
