SCERT Sikkim Conducts Residential Workshops for SRGs Under CM Special Numeracy Programme.
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Sikkim, successfully conducted two residential workshops for State Resource Groups (SRGs) under the CM Special Numeracy Programme (CM-SNP), bringing together educators from all six districts of the state.
The 4th Residential Workshop for SRGs of Class 3 was held over three days from 7th to 9th September 2026, followed by a two-day residential workshop for SRGs of Classes 1 & 2 from 10th to 11th September 2026. SRGs representing every block across Gangtok, Gyalshing, Mangan, Namchi, Pakyong and Soreng districts participated in the training.
The workshops were facilitated by resource persons from Jodo Gyan — Shaji, Amrita, Pooja, Jazcinth, Chitra, Harshita and Shivangi— who guided the SRGs through activity-based numeracy modules and teaching-learning materials for their respective grade levels. SCERT was represented by Rajiv Philip, Deputy Director, and Gopal Dhungel Faculty, Math, who coordinated the workshops throughout.
These residential trainings serve as a crucial prelude to the 5th Cluster-Level Workshops, set to be conducted at 40 cluster school venues across the state from 15th September 2026 onwards, where the trained SRGs will take these learnings forward to teachers in their respective blocks.
This initiative reflects SCERT Sikkim's continued commitment to strengthening foundational numeracy in classrooms under the state's NIPUN Bharat mission.
