FIELD VISIT AND WASTE SEGREGATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME
On 11.09.2026, the 30-Lungchok Salangdang Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) team, under Daramdin BAC, Soreng District visited Lungyam Junior High School under the guidance of Hon'ble Panchayat President, Shri Dushyant Sharma, along with all the Honourable Ward Panchayats, Assistant Director (PRI) Shri Samuel Tasho (Lepcha), the PDA cum Swachhagrahi Shri Milan Bhujel and GPK staff, to assess the overall status of the School.
During the visit, the team inspected the Mid-Day Meal arrangements and the school premises. The team also distributed four waste segregation bins in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Act 2026 and sensitised the school staff on the importance of proper waste segregation and disposal practices.
The team further visited Lungyam ICDS Centre, Nalboogaon Manghim, EPCS Church Lungchok, and Nalboogaon ICDS Centre.
Four waste segregation bins were distributed at these locations, and the concerned staff and community members were sensitised on the importance of proper waste segregation, cleanliness, and responsible waste management.
The initiative aims to promote cleanliness, proper waste segregation, environmental responsibilities and sustainable waste management within the GPU.
