Revision of Vehicle Load Restriction and Speed Limit at Bridge B2 along NH-310A

Mangan, September 11th (IPR): The Office of the Superintendent of Police, Mangan District, has issued an Order revising the vehicle load restriction and speed limit at Bridge B2, located at Km 6+780 along NH-310A, with immediate effect.
The revision has been made pursuant to the Memo No. 09/GOS/R&B/NH-II/2026-27/109 dated 02.09.2026, issued by the Divisional Engineer (NH-II), Roads and Bridges Department, Government of Sikkim, and following the Structural Assessment and Dynamic Bridge Load Test (BLT) conducted by M/s Mythcon on 09.08.2026 for the 55-metre steel Bridge B2.
As per the revised restrictions, the permissible vehicle load on Bridge B2 has been increased from 8 MT to 12 MT. However, no vehicle exceeding 12 MT laden weight shall be permitted to cross the bridge.
Further, all vehicles crossing the bridge shall maintain a maximum speed limit of 10 kmph to ensure safe vehicular movement and public safety.
Any vehicle found violating the prescribed load or speed restrictions shall be dealt with in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, applicable rules and other relevant provisions of law.
The revised restrictions shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders.
The concerned police personnel and authorities have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the prescribed restrictions for the safety of commuters and protection of the bridge infrastructure.
