Hon’ble Minister Shri Samdup Lepcha Attends Pang Lhabsol Celebration at Thangu, Lachen.
LACHEN, THANGU, 28.08.2026: Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare Department and Area MLA of 31-Lachen Mangan Constituency, Shri Samdup Lepcha, attended the Pang Lhabsol celebration held at Thangu, Lachen, with religious fervour and devotion.
On the auspicious occasion, the Hon’ble Minister offered prayers for peace, unity, prosperity, and the well-being of the people and the State of Sikkim. He also prayed for the blessings and protection of Mount Khangchendzonga, revered as the guardian deity of Sikkim.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister highlighted the deep spiritual, cultural, and historical significance of the festival and emphasised the importance of preserving Sikkim’s rich traditions, cultural heritage, and age-old values of peace and brotherhood.
He stated that under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, the State is progressing steadily, with development reaching every section of society while ensuring smooth and effective governance.
Further, he called upon the people, particularly the younger generation, to uphold the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence that has long been the foundation of Sikkimese society.
Also present were the Chairman of the State Medicinal Plant Board, the Chairman of the Forest & Environment Department, Lachen Pipon, Chitimpa, monks, and members of the general public. Their presence reflected the strong spirit of unity, faith, and community participation that marked the sacred celebration.
Pang Lhabsol was celebrated with great devotion, enthusiasm, and deep respect for Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. The festival holds immense significance as it commemorates the sacred bond of peace and brotherhood and recalls the historic Blood Brotherhood Treaty between the Lepcha and Bhutia communities.
The gathering concluded with prayers for the continued peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Sikkim.
