Opening Day of 22nd C-Division Gyalshing League Football Tournament 2026 Held at Kyongsa.
Gyalshing, August 28, 2026:
The C-Division Gyalshing League Football Tournament 2026 commence from today at Kyongsa Football Stadium, Gyalshing. The ongoing tournament is the 22nd Edition of Gyalshing League Football Tournament, which is organised by Gyalshing District Football Association (GDFA) in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Gyalshing District.
The programme was graced by Mr Sushil Tamang, Government Contractor and Entrepreneur, Gyalshing, as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Ms Nickjey Lhamu Bhutia, Additional Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Gyalshing; Mr C. B. Shanker, Deputy Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Department; Mr. Rajen Tamang, DIO Gyalshing and Mr Namgyal Bhutia, President, GDFA.
The said tournament is the only major football tournament in Gyalshing district, which is played in league formats with specially focus on grassroots football development and talent search, too.
The tournament aims to provide a platform for local football clubs and players to showcase their talent, while promoting sportsmanship, discipline and a healthy sporting culture among the youth of the district.
This year, there are nine registered Football Clubs (FC) participating in the ongoing C-Division Gyalshing League Football Tournament 2026. The league is expected to provide an opportunity for emerging footballers to gain competitive experience and further develop their skills.
The opening day witnessed enthusiastic participation from the players, officials and football supporters, marking the commencement of another season of competitive football in Gyalshing.
