SIST Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour.
Namchi, 15 August: The Sikkim Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), Chisopani, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India today with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration was organised under the vision and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) B.B. Pradhan, Principal-cum-Director, SIST.
The celebration commenced with a March Past by College NCC followed by the hoisting of National flag and singing of National Anthem, setting a solemn and patriotic tone for the programme. The event witnessed the participation of students, facilities and staff members of the institute.
The programme featured a series of student presentations. Ansh Singh, a student of SIST, delivered a speech on the occasion, followed by a song presented by Sorip Lepcha. Harsh Kumar Karan subsequently presented a poem recitation, adding to the patriotic spirit of the celebration.
The Chief Guest of the celebration Mr. Ajay Rai, Deputy Director-cum-Administrator, SIST, hoisted the National flag and addressed the gathering on the occasion and spoke on the significance of Independence Day and the responsibilities of the younger generation towards the nation building.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Parita Basnet (Faculty Associate), expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the Independence Day celebration.
The celebration at SIST reflected the institute community's spirit of patriotism and national pride, while providing an opportunity for students and members of the institute to commemorate the nation's 80th Independence Day.
