AYUSH Outreach Health Camp Conducted at BAC Office, Nandugoan.
The AYUSH Department, CHC Jorethang, successfully organized an AYUSH Outreach Health Camp at the BAC Office, Nandugoan, with the objective of promoting preventive healthcare and increasing awareness about AYUSH systems of medicine among government staff and the general public.
The camp offered free medical consultations along with free distribution of homoeopathic medicines. Health screening services included blood pressure (BP) measurement, random blood sugar (RBS), haemoglobin estimation, vision screening, and consultation for common health ailments. Screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) was also carried out for all BAC staff members and members of the general public.
During the camp, three cases of moderate anaemia, five cases of uncontrolled diabetes, and several cases of uncontrolled hypertension were identified. Participants received appropriate counselling, lifestyle advice, and referrals for further management where required.
An awareness session was conducted by Dr. Sajna Poudyal, Medical Officer (AYUSH), CHC Jorethang, highlighting the importance of AYUSH in preventive healthcare. She also emphasized the regular practice of Yoga 360 and the objectives of the Nasha Mukta Abhiyan, encouraging participants to adopt healthy lifestyle practices for the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases.
On the request of the BAC Office, Dr. Poudyal also delivered a brief awareness session on the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Measures (IDCM), stressing the importance of safe drinking water, hand hygiene, sanitation, early recognition of diarrhoeal illness, and timely use of ORS and zinc to prevent complications.
The outreach camp witnessed active participation and reinforced the importance of early screening, timely intervention, and health promotion through an integrated approach to healthcare.
