SGAY Brings New Hope as Beneficiary Receives Permanent Home at Lower Kitam.
Namchi, July 29 : A newly constructed house under the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY), a flagship initiative of the State Government, was formally inaugurated at Lower Kitam Ward under the 30–Kitam Manpur Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) in Namchi Block Administrative Centre (BAC). The house was handed over to its beneficiary, Shri Meghraj Sharma of Lower Kitam Ward.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Hon'ble Area MLA of Melli Constituency, Shri N. B. Pradhan; Panchayat President of 30–Kitam Manpur GPU, Shri Deepak Bhandari; Vice-President, Shri Shyam Subba; Ward Panchayats Smt Sher Maya Subba, Shri Ramesh Dhamala and Shri Kishore Kumar Sharma; Block Development Officer (BDO) Namchi, Shri Upendra Rai; Junior Engineers Shri Sumiran Ramudamu and Shri Basista Thapa, along with residents.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, the beneficiary thanked the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, for providing a well-furnished house under the Government's welfare programme. Appreciation was also conveyed to the Area MLA for his continued support, guidance and assistance throughout the process.
The Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana is a key State Government initiative aimed at providing safe and dignified housing to economically weaker households. By ensuring access to essential amenities and replacing kutcha houses with permanent dwellings, the scheme seeks to enhance the quality of life of deserving families and contribute towards the vision of a kutcha house-free Sikkim.
