An Awareness Programme on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) Scholarship Schemes was successfully conducted at Govt. Secondary School, Timburbong and  at PM Shri Senior Secondary School, Soreng with the objective of creating awareness among students and school authorities about the various scholarship schemes available under the National Scholarship Portal.
The programme commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of scholarships in promoting equitable access to education and reducing financial barriers faced by deserving students. Participants were informed about the objectives of the National Scholarship Portal and its role as a single-window platform for applying to Central and State Government scholarship schemes.
During the session, detailed information was provided on the eligibility criteria, available scholarship schemes, One Time Registration (OTR), online application process, required documents, important timelines, and the responsibilities of students and Institute Nodal Officers (INOs). The participants were also guided on how to avoid common mistakes while filling out applications and the importance of submitting accurate information within the prescribed deadlines.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed the presentation, during which students raised queries regarding eligibility, document requirements, Aadhaar authentication, bank account details, and application status tracking. All queries were addressed to ensure better understanding and smooth participation in the scholarship process.
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials were distributed, and students were encouraged to register and apply through the National Scholarship Portal within the stipulated time. The school authorities were requested to extend necessary support to eligible students in completing their applications and ensuring timely verification.
The awareness programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Head of the Institutions, teaching staff, and students of Timburbong Secondary School and Soreng Senior Secondary School for their active participation and cooperation. The programme successfully enhanced awareness regarding the NSP scholarship schemes and motivated eligible students to avail themselves of the educational benefits provided by the Government.
