Awareness Programme on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) Schemes Held at Mahatma Gandhi University
Soreng, July 22: The Social Welfare Department, Soreng District, conducted an Awareness Programme on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) Scholarship Schemes at Mahatma Gandhi University, Daramdin, to familiarise students, faculty members, and institutional representatives with the various scholarship opportunities available for eligible students.
The programme highlighted the importance of scholarships in promoting equitable access to higher education and reducing financial barriers. Participants were sensitised to the application process through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), with emphasis on eligibility criteria, required documents, One-Time Registration (OTR), Aadhaar and bank account linkage, application timelines, verification procedures, and the role of Institutional Nodal Officers (INOs).
Officials also provided detailed information on the various Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, Top Class Education, National Fellowship, PM YASASVI, and National Overseas Scholarship schemes available for eligible SC, ST, OBC, EBC, and DNT students.
An interactive question-and-answer session addressed participants’ queries on eligibility, renewal procedures, documentation, income criteria, Aadhaar seeding, bank account linkage, and the online application process. Students were encouraged to submit accurate applications within the prescribed timelines.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the authorities of Mahatma Gandhi University, Daramdin, for their support and cooperation. The awareness session was well received and is expected to enhance participation among eligible students in the scholarship schemes administered through the Social Welfare Department.
