AYURVIDYA School Health Programme Conducted at Tharpu Senior Secondary School.
The AYUSH Department, Soreng Primary Health Centre, under the Department of AYUSH, Government of Sikkim, successfully conducted the AYURVIDYA School Health Programme at Tharpu Senior Secondary School on 16th July 2026. The programme aimed to promote positive mental health, emotional well-being, and healthy lifestyle practices among adolescents.
Resource Persons:
* Mrs. Yamuna Dhungel, Adolescent Health Counsellor
* Dr. Roshma Thapa, Medical Officer (AYUSH)
Key Activities Conducted:
1. Mental Health Awareness - Understanding mental health, mental illness, adolescent health issues, teenage pregnancy, AFHC services, and Tele-MANAS.
2. Storytelling Session - An inspiring story highlighting resilience, hope, empathy, and the importance of seeking help during difficult times.
3. Stress Talk Circle - Interactive discussion on common causes of stress and healthy coping strategies.
4. Mindfulness & Box Breathing - Practical breathing and relaxation exercises to reduce stress and improve concentration.
5. Gratitude & Happiness Journal Activity- Students shared what they were grateful for and learned to develop a positive mindset.
6. Laughter Therapy- A joyful activity demonstrating the benefits of laughter for mental and emotional well-being.
7. Question & Answer Session- Students actively interacted with the resource persons and clarified their doubts.
8. Healthy Lifestyle Pledge-Students pledged to adopt healthy habits, practice stress management techniques, and seek support whenever needed.
The programme concluded with enthusiastic student participation and positive feedback, reinforcing the importance of emotional resilience, mental well-being, and preventive healthcare among adolescents.
