Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, today participated in the 212th Bhanu Jayanti celebrations held at Bhanu Garden of Gangtok.
On this occasion, the Governor offered a garland to the statue of Nepali literature, Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya.
This year's official program was brief and simple in honour of the one-day national mourning announced by the Government of India over the demise of former Qatar (Father Amir) Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
During this time, Hon'ble Minister of Rural Development Department of State Mr. Arun Upreti and Hon'ble Minister of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Mr. Sonam Lama, were specially present as special guests.
Along with Hon'ble MLA of Gangtok, Mr. Dele Namgyal Barfungpa, Hon'ble MLA of Syari Constituency Mr. Tenzing Lamatha, Senior Officers of various Government departments and other dignitaries were present.
Shri Hari Dhungel, Chairman of Nepali Literature Council, Sikkim, Executive Committee members and local writers were also present in the event.
