11-Rimbi Tingbrong GPU Conducts 9th Annual Gram Sabha under GPDP 2026-27.
Gyalshing, 2nd July: The 11-Rimbi Tingbrong Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) successfully conducted its 9th Annual Gram Sabha under the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026-27 under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Panchayat President Shri Mangal Rai.
The programme was attended by Hon'ble Zilla Panchayat Member Miss Sabitri Rai, Hon'ble Panchayat Vice President Smt. Sonam Zangmu Lepcha, and Hon'ble Panchayat Members Smt. Amuna Rai, Shri Mingwong Limboo, and Shri D.S. Limboo.
Officials from various line departments also participated, including Shri G.R. Chettri, Assistant Director (PRI), Yuksam; Shri I.B. Limboo, Assistant Director (PRI); Shri Deepan Pradhan, Food Inspector, along with officials from the Food & Civil Supplies Department; Smt. Buddha Kumari Rai, ICDS Supervisor; Shri Ash Man Limboo, Junior Engineer, Power Department; Shri Nabin Pradhan, Junior Engineer, Rural Development Department, Yuksam; Shri Milan Limboo, Social Welfare Inspector; Shri Temo Hang Limboo, Asst. Social Welfare Inspector, Women, Child, Senior Citizen & Divyangjan Welfare Department; and Shri Man Bahadur Limboo from the Forest Department.
The meeting was further attended by Smt. Shanti Limboo (President), Smt. Devi Kala Limboo (Treasurer), and Smt. Tara Gurung (Representative) of the Rimbi Tingbrong SHG Federation, besides members of the GPPFT, Standing Committees, Vigilance Committee, Gram Panchayat Unit staff ( Jr. VAA, PDA, PAA, VGRA, PPDD's, DMA's ) and a large number of local residents.
The programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a welcome address by Hon'ble Panchayat Vice President Smt. Sonam Zangmu Lepcha. Thereafter, Hon'ble Panchayat President Shri Mangal Rai welcomed the gathering and placed the key agenda before the house, which included the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026-27, Women-Friendly Village, and Water-Sufficient Village. The Panchayat Members then presented the resolutions received from their respective Ward Sabhas.
During the departmental presentations, Shri Birkha Bdr. Rai, Panchayat Development Assistant, highlighted the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin). Shri Norgen Lepcha, Gram Rozgar Sewak, briefed the gathering on the Viksit Bharat Gram Panchayat Abhiyan (VB-GRAM-G), informing that the programme would commence from 1st August 2026 and that the daily wage under the scheme had been enhanced from 269/- to 300/-.
ASWI, Shri. Temo Hang Limboo, apprised the gathering of various welfare schemes and the required documentation for beneficiaries. The Mahila Sabha resolutions were presented by Smt. Shanti Limboo, President of the SHG Federation, highlighting demands for a breastfeeding room, women's fitness activities under Fit India, leadership training, and a sound system for the federation.
Officials from the Food & Civil Supplies Department; Shri Deepan Pradhan, Food Inspector created awareness regarding food security, Public Distribution System (PDS) services, departmental rules, and food price-related issues. ICDS Supervisor Smt. Buddha Kumari Rai informed the house about the newly completed ICDS Centre at Topung Ward and proposed electrification, staff appointment, and construction of another ICDS Centre through convergence.
Social Welfare Inspector, Shri Milan Limboo also briefed the Gram Sabha on the Shravan Kumar Award 2026, explaining the eligibility criteria, required documents, and the constitution of the Gram Panchayat-level committee for recommending deserving beneficiaries.
Major Resolutions Passed:
Following detailed deliberations, the Gram Sabha unanimously adopted several important resolutions, including:
1. Approval of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026-2027.
2. Approval of women's welfare initiatives, including a Breastfeeding Room, Fit India fitness activities, Leadership Training, and a Sound System for the SHG Federation.
3. Electrification of the ICDS Centre at Topung Ward and proposal for appointment of staff.
4. Monthly garbage collection on the 5th and 6th of every month.
5. Electrification of the Milk Collection Centre at Boom Ward.
6. Construction of the Tanglagaon–Pacheybung footpath under VB-GRAM-G.
7. Construction of a Steel Suspension Bridge connecting Chungthang Bridge to Pacheybung–Chumbung Bridge.
8. Construction of a Steel Bridge at Milk Khola under Singlila Ward.
9. Construction of a footpath from Omgy Road to Tanglagaon.
10. Repair of the Community Connection Shed at Tanglagaon and the Mid-Day Meal Kitchen at Boom Primary School.
11. Procurement of Disaster Management equipment for the Gram Panchayat Unit.
12. Approval of ward boundary demarcation proposals.
13. Constitution of the Shran Kumar Award Committee at the Gram Panchayat level.
14. Approval of various developmental works under GPDP 2026–27 through convergence with the Viksit Bharat Gram Panchayat Abhiyan (VB-GRAM-G).
The Gram Sabha concluded with active participation from the public, reflecting the community's commitment towards participatory governance and sustainable rural development.
