Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur attended a spiritual function as Chief Guest at Shri Shri Saraswati Dolma Temple located at 5 Mile, Tadong.
On this occasion, the Governor participated in the Prana Pratishtha ritual of Dwadash Jyotirling and Lord Shiva's idol at the temple premises along with Vedic rituals and unveiled it.
In this event, the area MLA Co Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. G.T. Dhungel, representative of temple committee, officers from various departments and local pilgrims were present.
A special session was held during the ceremony, where the Governor honored those active social workers and devotees, who have contributed their selflessly to the temple construction, development and service works. During this time the Governor attended Hawan along with devotees and wished the happiness, communal harmony and good health for the people of Sikkim.
Addressing the mass, Hon'ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur said, " Religious institutions like Saraswati Dolma Temple are the foundation of our cultural identity and community unity." He applauded all social workers honored and said that his contribution keeps our heritage alive for generations to come.
Governor sir said that Lord Shiva is the beginning and end, he is the gods of welfare. Today it is a moment of good fortune for me to be a part of the Prana Pratishtha of Bholenath in this holy Saraswati Dolma temple. Appreciating the people of Sikkim, the Governor said that the simplicity, deep cultural loyalty and sense of harmony and environmental awareness is truly exemplary. May Lord Shiva bless every home of Sikkim with happiness, peace, prosperity and good health.
