Under the direction of the Hon’ble Minister for the Ecclesiastical Department, Public Health Engineering, and Water Resources Departments, Ven. Sonam Lama, officials under the Ecclesiastical Department inspected the Chenrezig Shingkham Riwo Potala in Pelling, Gyalshing District, and Samdruptse in Namchi District.
The inspection team was led by Special Secretary Shri Sonam T. Tashi, accompanied by Joint Director / Gendrung Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Research Officer Dr. Hissay Wangchuk Bhutia, and departmental inspectors.
Upon their arrival at the Chenrezig Shingkham Riwo Potala, the team was briefed by the in-charge, Shri Ngawang Gonpo, who guided them through the complex and highlighted specific areas requiring renovation and repair. These preparatory assessments are crucial for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming Mani Drongdub.
Following this, the delegation travelled to Samdruptse in Namchi District for an official visit, where they interacted with the OSD Samdruptse, Shri Hissay Dorjee, and staff members.
