SIKKIM RISE Outreach and Awareness Campaign Conducted in Pakyong District.
Pakyong, June 18: As part of the ongoing statewide outreach and awareness campaign for SIKKIM RISE, a series of stakeholder consultations and institutional engagements were conducted in Pakyong district to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and wider participation in the initiative.
Shri Dipen Subba, OSD, Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, and General Secretary, SEED Cell, met with Mrs. Pari Bishnoi, IAS, District Collector, Pakyong, and briefed her on the vision, objectives, and opportunities offered through SIKKIM RISE. The meeting focused on encouraging greater participation from youth, students, startups, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs from the district. Mr. Bishal Pokhrel, APS, Pakyong District, was also present during the meeting.
The outreach programme also included a visit to the ATTC Bardang Incubation Centre, where an interactive meeting was held with Dr. Sonam Palden Barfungpa, Principal, along with the Vice Principal, Heads of Departments, and the Incubation Centre In-charge. Discussions centred on strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem within educational institutions, fostering innovation, and motivating students to actively engage with SIKKIM RISE.
Subsequently, Shri Subba met Mr. Jigmi Wangdi Bhutia, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Pakyong, along with DIC officials and staff. During the interaction, participants were apprised of the various opportunities available under SIKKIM RISE and were encouraged to actively promote the initiative and facilitate registrations among entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, self-help groups, and aspiring business leaders across the district.
The meetings highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among government departments, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders in building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and ensuring the successful implementation of SIKKIM RISE throughout the state.
Shri Dipen Subba was accompanied by Mr. Bikash Basnett, Joint Secretary, SEED Cell, during the engagements.
SIKKIM RISE is a flagship initiative under the Sikkim Inspires Programme of the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, aimed at identifying, nurturing, and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators across Sikkim.
