Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan -E Pledge Programme.
Namchi, 18 June: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Saptah 2026, an E-Pledge on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was administered by the District Collector, Namchi, Ms. Anupa Tamling, at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) Complex, Namchi, today.
The programme was attended by all officers and officials posted at DAC Namchi. On the occasion, the District Collector administered the anti-drug pledge and emphasised the collective responsibility of government officials and citizens in creating a drug-free society.
She also highlighted the adverse effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and communities, and urged everyone to actively participate in the nationwide movement against drug abuse.
The progrmme concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment towards achieving the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and promoting a healthy and responsible society.
In line with the campaign, the E-Pledge was also administered across various government departments and offices in Namchi District, ensuring wider participation and reinforcing the commitment towards a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, Officials, and stakeholders, reflecting the district's resolve to combat substance abuse and promote a healthier society.
"Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan- Viksit Bharat Ki Penchaan" aims to create awareness on the ill effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug - free society. The campaign culminates on 26 June 2026, the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
During the week, various awareness and outreach activities will be organised, including mass pledge drives, poster, slogan and essay competitions, screening of awareness films, webinars, cycle rallies, cultural programmes, street plays, community awareness campaigns, yoga and meditation sessions, health camps, counselling sessions, and social media campaigns. Special emphasis will be given to youth, students, women, educational institutions and community stakeholders.
The campaign aims to strengthen public participation, encourage healthy lifestyles, and mobilise communities to work together towards a Drug-Free India (Nasha Mukt Bharat). Citizens are encouraged to take the anti-drug pledge and actively support the movement for a safer and healthier society.
