17th June 2026: Coordination Meeting for the Inter-Constituency Ramayan Recitation Competition under the 212th National-Level Bhanu Jayanti Celebration
A coordination meeting regarding the Inter-Constituency Ramayan Recitation Competition, to be organised as part of the 212th National-Level Grand Celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya (Bhanu Jayanti), was successfully held today at Takurbari Mandir, Gangtok.
The meeting reviewed and discussed various arrangements and preparations for the upcoming celebration. It was informed that an Inter-Constituency Ramayan Recitation Competition featuring participants from all districts of Sikkim will be organised in Soreng District as one of the major events of the 212th National-Level Bhanu Jayanti Celebration, which will culminate on 13th July 2026.
The meeting was chaired by Shri Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, Additional Political Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, on behalf of Gangtok District. The gathering witnessed active participation from OSDs to Hon’ble MLAs, CLC Presidents, and other representatives from Gangtok District, who deliberated on various aspects of the prestigious cultural event.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that the Gangtok District Inter-Constituency Ramayan Recitation Competition will be held on 5th July 2026 at Takurbari Mandir, Gangtok, wherein each constituency under Gangtok District will nominate one team to represent their respective constituency.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensure the successful organization of the Ramayan Recitation Competition and to make the 212th National-Level Bhanu Jayanti Celebration a grand success.
