Honorable Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur's three-day visit to Gazing district
Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur is on a three-day tour of Gazing District from 20 to 22 May 2026. The tour aims to understand local life closely and communicate with citizens.
Today on the first day, the Governor reached Kasturba Gandhi Girls Vidyalaya, Labing, Gerethang. Students warmly welcomed them in the school campus. Governor sir interacted with students, teachers and education department officials.
During the dialogue students and teachers shared their challenges especially emphasizing the need for playground shortage, ambulance facility.
The Governor listened to these topics and assured that they will be observed with priority.
The special thing was that the Governor had lunch with the students while learning about housing system, studies and shared their daily life experience.
Honorable Lok Sabha MP Dr. Indrahang Subba and Hon'ble Regional MLA Co Tourism and Civil Aviation Department Hon'ble Minister Mr. TT Bhutia were present.
Honorable Area MLA informed the Honorable Governor about the challenges related to the school.
The MP informed the Governor that the road from Yoksam-Tashiding to Lakeship has been initiated by the state government to make a national highway through pelling. On this, the Governor has assured to support.
