Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PM-NAM) Successfully Conducted at Niyukti Kendra, Deorali in Collaboration with Barbeque Nation Hospitality Limited

The Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, successfully organized the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PM-NAM) on 12 May 2026 at Niyukti Kendra, Deorali, Gangtok.
The event was organized with the objective of connecting the youth of Sikkim with apprenticeship and employment opportunities across diverse sectors, including hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, and retail. The mela served as an effective platform for aspiring candidates to interact directly with reputed employers and gain access to structured on-the-job training opportunities under the apprenticeship framework.
A total of 73 candidates from various parts of the State participated in the apprenticeship mela. Representatives from participating establishments conducted preliminary interviews, shared information on available vacancies, eligibility criteria, stipend and salary structures, and explained career growth prospects within their respective organizations.

The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PM-NAM) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, aimed at encouraging youth to gain practical industry experience while earning a stipend through apprenticeship training.
Officials of the Skill Development Department assisted candidates with registration and counselling and highlighted the benefits of apprenticeship training under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
The Skill Development Department expressed its sincere appreciation to all participating establishments for their valuable support and cooperation, and to the 73 candidates for their enthusiastic participation and overwhelming response.
