Namchi, 11 May : A moment of joy, dignity, and hope unfolded today, 11th May 2026, at Lower Kolthang Ward under Kolthang Tokday GPU, BAC Yangang, with the successful inauguration of a newly constructed SGAY House under the prestigious Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY).
The house, allotted to Shri Nanada Lall Sharma bearing Allotment No. 06-NAMCHI/ADC/RAV/Y/156, stands as a symbol of the Government of Sikkim’s unwavering commitment towards uplifting economically weaker and deserving families by providing them with safe, secure, and permanent shelter. The initiative continues to transform lives by bringing comfort, stability, and renewed confidence to countless households across the State.
The inaugural programme was graciously led by the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly-cum-Area MLA of 15-Rangang Yangang Constituency, Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, whose inspiring presence added warmth and significance to the occasion. The programme was also attended by BDO Yangang, Smt. Needay Bhutia, Hon’ble Panchayat President of Kolthang Tokday GPU, Shri Bishnu Ram Niroula, Panchayat Members, Head Assistant Shri Dewash Bhattarai, JE Shri Benay Timsina, and esteemed local residents.
