Due to a severe windstorm experienced today, both the 66 kV Transmission Line from Rongli to Rhenock and the 11 kV backfeed circuit from Rorathang to Rhenock sustained damage, resulting in the disruption of power supply in several areas under the Rhenock and Chujachen Constituencies.
The affected areas include Rhenock Bazaar, Aritar, Khamdong, Dalapchand, Reshi, Rungdung, Chalisey and adjoining villages.
Restoration work on the damaged 66 kV Transmission Line was initiated immediately and will continue tomorrow jointly by the EHV Section and officials/staff of the Rhenock Division.
Simultaneously, the Rhenock Division is also attending to the damaged 11 kV backfeed circuit and other affected 11 kV distribution lines to restore supply at the earliest possible time.
The Power Department is making all efforts for early restoration of the electricity supply and seeks the cooperation and understanding of all affected consumers.
The inconvenience caused is highly regretted.
