Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal, Khan and Steel, along with other members paid courtesy visit to Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur at Lokbhavan today.
A dialogue session was held during the meeting on the occasion, in which Shri Thakur praised Sikkim's cleanliness, traffic discipline and hospitality felicitation.
Hon'ble Governor, in discussion with the committee, highlighted the remarkable plans being run by the state government towards environmental protection in Sikkim. She also shared her views on the historical importance of Nathu-La and women's active participation in the development of the state. The Governor also informed the committee about the efforts of continuous development in Sikkim.
Before this, the committee discussed in detail the topic 'Protection, Security and Structure Development in Coal Ministry, BCCL, NEC and CCL in Gangtok.
Hon'ble Governor's Commissioner Co-Secretary Mr. Jitendra Singh Raje was also present on the occasion, who welcomed everyone on behalf of Lokbhavan.
