Gangtok, May 5 : A coordination meeting for the upcoming Sikkim Kalakar Bharosa Sammelan 2026 was chaired by Smt. Krishna Kumari Rai, Former MLA, Spouse of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim and Patron of the Sammelan. The event is being organised by the Sikkim Art, Culture and Heritage Development Board under the patronage of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay).
The meeting was attended by Chairman Shri Sanjay Dilpali Rai, board members, members of the organising committee, artists representing various fraternities, and members of Team VOICE. The gathering reflected a strong sense of unity, with artists from diverse backgrounds coming together in a spirit of collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Krishna Kumari Rai expressed satisfaction at the growing collective participation of artists and noted that it was heartening to witness such unity across different fraternities.
It was also highlighted that the Sammelan, which began as an independent initiative, has now been officially institutionalised under the Government of Sikkim, enhancing its credibility and stature. Feedback from last year’s edition has been incorporated, resulting in improved planning and a more streamlined approach this year.
The Government of Sikkim, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, continues to remain committed to the welfare and empowerment of artists.
Meanwhile, it was informed that the event, earlier scheduled for May 8 and 9, 2026, has been postponed to May 14 and 15, 2026, due to the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s unavoidable official engagements.
Artists have been encouraged to remain united and make the most of the masterclasses and opportunities being offered during the Sammelan.
