Namchi, 5 May : Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized by the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of SIST Chisopani in collaboration with District Hospital Namchi and supported by the Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SACS), Gangtok, on 5th May 2025 at the college campus.
The technical support for the camp was provided by the Blood Centre, District Hospital Namchi, ensuring smooth and safe collection of blood units throughout the programme. The camp was also supported by the Sikkim State AIDS Control Society, Gangtok.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members. A total of 65 voluntary blood donors from SIST Chisopani donated blood, contributing to this noble cause. The first donor of the camp was Mr. Nabin Dhakal, setting an inspiring example for others. The Administrative Officer of the college, Mr. Ajay Rai, also actively participated by donating blood.
The event was conducted under the coordination of Dr. C. P. Khatiwada, Assistant Professor of Physics and Coordinator of RRC, SIST. He expressed sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and technical officers for their dedicated service.
Special appreciation is extended to Prof. (Dr.) B. B. Pradhan, Principal-cum-Director, SIST, for his constant support and encouragement. Thanks are also due to all Heads of Departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, administrative staff, and student volunteers for their collective efforts in making the programme a success.
Dr. Khatiwada also acknowledged the support of team members Mr. Amir Pradhan, Mr. Avikeshar Sharma, Ms. Chandra Sharma, and Ms. Sharadha Pradhan for their valuable assistance. Gratitude is further extended to Mr. Kishore Baniya, State Coordinator of RRC, for his guidance and cooperation.
The programme highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and reflected the strong commitment of SIST Chisopani towards social responsibility and community service.
