Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, today attended the closing ceremony of the two-day conference on 'Technology & Judicial Education' organised by the Sikkim High Court & Sikkim Judicial Academy at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok.
During this two-day ceremony, Sikkim was officially declared the country's first 'paperless judiciary'. The Governor, sir described this achievement as a proud moment for the state and said that this initiative will now not only speed up the process of justice but it will also make it more transparent and accessible for common citizens through e-filing and digital records.

In his address, the Hon'ble Governor said that the "Technology and Judicial Education" conference is a concrete initiative to make the Indian judiciary more transparent, efficient and accessible for the future. Technical innovation, such as artificial intelligence and digital management, is now a mandatory tool of not just convenience but also accountable and empowering the judicial system. He said that this inclusion of technology in judicial education will not only organize legal processes, but also prepare future legal leadership for the beginning of a new, just and modern democratic era from this confluence of constitutional values and technology.
Attorney General of India Mr. R. Venkatarmani, Supreme Court Justice Mr. A.H.M.D. Nawaz, Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court A. Muhammad Mustaq, Judge of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice & Judge of High Court from different States, Sikkim High Court Justice Mr. Bhaskar Raj Pradhan, President of the Commonwealth Legal Education Association Dr. S. Shiv Kumar, Chairman of Sikkim Bar Association, Tashi Raptain Barfungpa and enlightened people and senior officials of the state government were present.
