First Sikkim State Games, 2026
The Sikkim Olympic Association, in its Executive Body Meeting held on 7th April 2026, resolved to organise the First Sikkim State Games, 2026 in last of October in collaboration with the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim. The initiative has been envisioned by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang(Golay), who is also the Chief Patron of the Association, with the objective of promoting sports and identifying talent across the State.
The proposed key features of the State Games include participation from all districts, organisation of competitions across multiple sports disciplines, a strong focus on grassroots talent identification, and adherence to standard competition formats aligned with national norms.
It was further resolved to convene a joint meeting with the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs shortly to finalise modalities. The final structure, format, and detailed features of the State Games will be placed for approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sikkim Olympic Association, along with its affiliated Sports Associations, scheduled in May 2026.
