Namchi, 7 April: Awareness and Distribution Programme on Apiculture (Beekeeping) Held at Lower Salghari Rainfed Area Development (RAD) Cluster, Community Hall Salghari.
Namchi 7 April: The Agriculture Department, Namchi District, in collaboration with ATMA, organised an Awareness-cum-Distribution Programme on Beekeeping under the Rainfed Area Development Programme at the Lower Salghari RAD Cluster, Namchi District, for the year 2025–2026.
The programme was graced by Shri Tshering Tamang, Hon'ble Panchayat President, Salghari GPU, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by the Hon’ble Panchayat members, Shri Prayas Rai, along with Mr Arbin Majhi, Agriculture Development Officer (ADO), Jorethang Block, Smt. Kalpana Shestra, Horticulture Development Officer, Smt. Deepika Rai, BTM, ATMA, Jorethang Block and other officials and staff of the concerned Agriculture Block.
During the programme, Scientific Bee Hive were distributed to 60 beneficiaries, “Aiming to promote apiculture practices for the upliftment of farmers’ income.
Shri Pramesh Subba, Resource Person, highlighted the importance of apiculture and the adoption of modern Bee keeping systems to ensure sustainable agricultural development in the district.
