Capacity Building of Sikkim MSMEs at IIM Shillong
6th April,2026, Gangtok, Sikkim – In a significant milestone for Sikkim’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, certificates were formally distributed today to six MSME participants who successfully completed the Business Accelerator Program (BAP) for SC-ST entrepreneurs under the prestigious National SC-ST Hub Scheme.
The certificates were presented by the Secretary of the Commerce and Industries Department, in the presence of the Director (MSME), the Joint Secretary (MSME), the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, and the President of the SEED Cell.
The BAP was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, with support from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, and the Government of Sikkim. The program was held from 2nd February 2026 to 13th March 2026 and focused on strengthening entrepreneurial and business management skills among SC-ST entrepreneurs from Sikkim.
In the first phase, six MSMEs from Sikkim participated and successfully completed the rigorous training program. IIM Shillong also offered incubation facilitation to select MSMEs from Sikkim, based on the uniqueness of their products and their scalability potential.
This programme is expected to strengthen these enterprises through improved management practices, effective business scaling strategies, better accounting systems, and enhanced market outreach.
