Soreng, April 06: The handing over–taking programme of the newly renovated Child Care Institution (CCI), Kaluk, was successfully conducted today in the presence of distinguished dignitaries and officials.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Area MLA, Shri Erung Tenzing Lepcha, accompanied by the Hon’ble Adhyaksha, Soreng District, Smt. Tilla Devi Gurung, Additional District Magistrate Shri D. R. Bista, District Programme Officer (Zilla Office) Shri Kumar Subba, Assistant Engineer from Zilla Office, OSD to MLA (Rinchenpong Constituency), Hon’ble Panchayat President and Members, District Child Protection Officer Shri Peter Rai (DCPU Soreng), along with the CCI In-charge, children, and staff.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), who highlighted the objectives and significance of the Mission Vatsalya Scheme under the Women, Child, Senior Citizen & Divyangjan Welfare Department, emphasising its role in ensuring care, protection, and development of children in need.
The Assistant Engineer from the Zilla Office presented a brief overview of the renovation works, stating that the project was completed within the stipulated timeframe while adhering to the prescribed quality standards as per the approved estimates.
The Hon’ble Area MLA inspected the renovated facilities and expressed satisfaction over the quality of work executed. He congratulated the entire CCI fraternity and the local community on the successful completion of the renovation project. He also encouraged the children to remain dedicated to their studies and strive towards building a bright future.
During the programme, the children of the CCI presented various cultural performances, adding vibrancy to the occasion.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by the House Father, Shri Mon Prasad Pradhan, CCI Kaluk.
