Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, visited 11 Battalion ITBP (ITBP) located in Chungthang on the third and last day of his Mangan District visit. On this occasion, the Governor interacted with the soldiers and women's group and appreciated their courage and dedication.
The Governor said in an interactive session with the soldiers that the security situation of the nation is rapidly changing in the current landscape and the central government is fully focused on strengthening the defence sector. They learnt from the soldiers about their diet, electricity, connectivity and quality of life. The soldiers expressed satisfaction that their quality of life has improved significantly over the past decade. This has improved especially due to modern military equipment, better diet and digitalization.
Addressing the soldiers, the Governor said, "You stand firm in the security of the country despite the dangerous circumstances; that is your true work. "

The Governor Sir specially appreciated the dedication, patience and discipline of ITBP soldiers deployed at 17,000 feet height at the Kerang Post.
The Governor said that the discipline and power of ITBP's soldiers and women's group is an inspiration to the whole nation. Your role in protecting the border areas of the country, especially North Sikkim, is invaluable.
During the visit, the Governor also met the personnel of Border Road Organization (BRO) along the way and appreciated his contribution in adverse weather and conditions.
Mangan District Deputy Commissioner Mr. Anant Jain, Superintendent of Police Mr. L.B. Chhetri, Commandant of 11 Battalion ITBP Mr. Rajesh Kumar Joshi, SDM (Mangan) Mr. Sandeep Kumar and SDM (Chungthang) Mr. Arun Chhetri, along with other officers and soldiers, were present.
