Lok Bhawan: Sikkim

Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur inaugurated state level Kho-Kho Championship at Khel Village.
Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, today launched the First State Level Kho-Kho Championship 2026, organised under the Kho-Kho Federation of India at Khel Village, Reshithang, Gangtok.
Competitions will be played in sub-junior (boys and girls) and open (men and women) categories.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Hon'ble Governor said that Kho-Kho is India's traditional sport, deeply connected to our cultural heritage. They expressed their joy to see the active participation of the little children in this game. The Governor insisted that this sport should be given a priority because it promotes team spirit, discipline and physical fuel in the youth.
The Governor expressed satisfaction that a total of 24 teams from different districts of the state are participating in this competition. He congratulated players, organizers and coaches and conveyed that talented players of Sikkim will surpass this platform to make their identity at the national and international level.
Competition is being held from 3rd April to 5th April 2026 at the Sports Village, Reshithang, Gangtok.
Honourable Minister of Health and Family Welfare Department of Sikkim Government, on this occasion. T. Dhungel, Hon'ble Area MLA Mrs. Kala Rai, Hon'ble Gangtok Area MLA Mr. Dele Namgyal, Patron Mr. Arjun Ghatani, President of Kho-Kho Association Mr. B.K. Roka, along with executive members and sports and youth affairs officers, was present.
