Gangtok, 01-04-2026: Self-enumeration starting from the 1st of April to the 15th of April under the ongoing Digital Census 2027 was successfully carried out at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gangtok, with active participation from district officials and staff.
The exercise witnessed participation from the District Collector (DC), Additional District Collectors (ADCs), Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), and staff of DAC Gangtok. Officials and staff from the ADC Development Office, Rural Development Department (RDD), as well as the Singtam Nagar Panchayat office, Block Administrative Centres (BACs) of all five blocks under Gangtok district, also took part in the self-enumeration process.
In addition, enumerators and supervisors (Rural), who had assembled for training sessions, also undertook self-enumeration as part of the initiative. This ensured hands-on familiarisation with the process and reinforced the importance of accurate and timely data submission.
The initiative reflects the district administration’s commitment to promoting self-enumeration and ensuring preparedness for smooth and efficient Census operations. All participants were encouraged to further disseminate awareness and motivate others to adopt self-enumeration as a convenient and reliable method of data collection.
The District Administration Gangtok reiterates its appeal to all citizens of Sikkim to actively participate in the self-enumeration process, which starts from 1st of April to 15th of April 2026 and contribute towards the success of the Census.
