Gyalshing,March 26:The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Gyalshing, successfully organised a four-day capacity-building programme for the PRTs of Soreng, Kaluk and Daramdin Blocks of Soreng District on NCF-FS 2022 & NCF-SE 2023, aligning it with the textbooks of Foundational and Preparatory stages in three phases at the respective blocks w.e.f. 9th to 12th March, 16th to 19th March and 23rd to 26th March, 2026 respectively.
The programme was designed with the objective of strengthening teachers’ pedagogical understanding and equipping them with the necessary skills for effective classroom practices. It specifically aimed to familiarize the PRTs with the usage and key features of the newly introduced textbooks, recommended pedagogical approaches, and assessment strategies aligned with Competency-Based Teaching and Learning as recommended by NCF.
The inaugural and valedictory sessions of all three phases were graced by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Mr Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia and the Joint Director (JD), Mr MK Khewa, from the DEO, Soreng, whose presence added significance to the programme and motivated the participants.
Throughout the sessions, emphasis was laid on interactive and learner-centered methodologies, integration of innovative teaching strategies, and effective assessment practices to enhance student learning outcomes. Teachers actively participated in discussions, group activities, and hands-on sessions, making the programme highly engaging and meaningful.
The programme was successfully conducted across all three phases, achieving its intended objectives. Feedback received from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting their satisfaction and enhanced understanding of the concepts covered. The teachers expressed enthusiasm and confidence in implementing the learned strategies in their classrooms.
Overall, the programme proved to be a fruitful initiative, contributing significantly to the professional development of teachers and strengthening the quality of primary education in the district.
