Honourable Governor Mr. Om Prakash Mathur's speech on the accounting grant in the first session of the 11th Assembly of Sikkim
Hon'ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur ji presented his speech today in the first session of the 11th Assembly of Sikkim. In his address, the Governor highlighted the various plans and initiatives of the Central and State Governments for the overall development of the state.
The Governor expressed his gratitude for the continuous cooperation and support of the central government. He reiterated his commitment to deliver quality healthcare to every citizen through the expansion of health services, modern medical facilities and public welfare plans. Also, he mentioned study work and policy making on issues related to reproductive health.
He emphasised innovation, digital learning and skill development programs in the field of education. He mentioned the steps taken towards more empowering Sikkim as a major tourist destination and also highlighted the historic achievements under "Bharat Battlefield Darshan".
Highlighting the agricultural sector, the Governor reiterated his commitment to increase farmers' income, encourage organic farming and develop a climate-friendly and environmental protective agricultural system. In this order, he dignified the joint efforts of the Central and State Governments under the Department of Rural Development, Vibrant Village Plan and Water Life Mission.
The Hon'ble Governor said that Sikkim is leading in building a prosperous, just and environmental sustainability state. May every citizen's dream come true here and every step of development move forward with equality and transparency—the government is working with commitment in this direction.
Mr. Governor, sharing the vision of "Golden prosperous ani Samarth Sikkim", said that Sikkim is committed to the construction of a developed India @2047 and will contribute meaningfully towards this direction. He described the discussion in the House as important towards a healthy and happier Sikkim.
