Warm Welcome Programme Organised in Honour of Hon’ble Minister, Shri G T Dhungel, AYUSH Department.
A warm welcome programme was organised in honour of Shri G.T. Dhungel on the occasion of his being assigned the portfolio of Hon’ble Minister in-charge of the AYUSH Department, at Yangthang Heritage Hotel on 24th March 2026. 
The programme commenced with an address by the Secretary, AYUSH Department, Mrs. Suchitra Rasaily, SCS, who not only extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries but also outlined the Department’s vision, key priorities, and ongoing efforts towards strengthening traditional and holistic healthcare systems in the State. She emphasized the importance of a coordinated and forward looking approach to position AYUSH as a vital pillar in Sikkim’s healthcare ecosystem, and expressed her sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for his visionary step in establishing the Department.
This was followed by the ceremonial offering of khadas and bouquets by Shri Arjun Kumar Ghatani on behalf of the Department.
In his address, Shri Ghatani highlighted key initiatives and upcoming projects aimed at further strengthening AYUSH services. He acknowledged the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and expressed gratitude for the continued guidance and support extended to the Department.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister, Shri G.T. Dhungel, underscored the values of patience, dedication, and compassion in healthcare delivery. He stressed the need to integrate AYUSH systems with modern medicine while preserving and promoting Sikkim’s rich indigenous healing traditions. He also highlighted the significant potential of wellness tourism in the State and encouraged sustainable, nature-aligned healthcare development. The Hon’ble Minister urged all stakeholders to remain committed and focused, noting that AYUSH in Sikkim holds immense promise under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
The programme was also graced by Hon’ble Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar Pradhan, OSD Smt. Deena Chettri, Mission Director Dr. Ganita Thapa, Chief Engineer Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh & his team, Additional Director (Admin.) Mrs.Chunni Thakarpa,Additional Director cum SPO Dr.Karma Chaden Bhutia and AYUSH doctors from across the State.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Additional Director (Administration), followed by lunch.
