KVK, Gyalshing Conducts Awareness Programme on Organic Integrated Farming Systems Module & Input Distribution
Gyalshing,March 25, An Awareness Programme on Organic Integrated Farming Systems Module & Input Distribution was successfully conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gyalshing, under the sponsorship of ICAR-IIFSR and ATARI-Zone VI, spanning two days and targeting 50 local beneficiaries.
On March 24, 2026, the initiative commenced at Topung, Rimbi Timbrong GPU under PMDDKY district, where Shri Mangal Singh Rai, the Panchayat President, served as Chief Guest and encouraged farmers toward organic sustainability. This was followed on March 25, 2026, at Soreng GPU, under the guidance of Chief Guest Miss Dina Limboo.
Throughout both sessions, technical experts from KVK Gyalshing provided comprehensive training on Integrated Organic Farming System modules, including the cultivation of Maize variety C.P. 333 and Darjeeling beans, alongside practical demonstrations on using knapsack sprayers. Special emphasis was placed on soil health through vermicompost production and the scientific cultivation of vegetables and mushrooms.
To ensure the immediate application of these practices, each location received a distribution of essential inputs, including knapsack sprayers, seeds for maize, beans, coriander, and spinach, as well as Kuroiler poultry chicks and mushroom spawn. Both programmes concluded with a formal vote of thanks, marking a significant step toward promoting long-term ecological and economic resilience for the farmers of the region.
