Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur paid a courtesy visit to the Kho-Kho Association Chairman Mr. B.K. Roka (Retd D.I.G. Police) with executive members.
The delegation informed the Governor about the upcoming State Level Kho-Kho Championship, which will be held from 3 April to 5 April 2026 at Reshithang, Gangtok.
A total of 36 teams from different districts of the state will participate in this competition.
Hon'ble Governor praised the initiative and said that it is India's game, it should be given priority. Kho-Kho is a game associated with our tradition and culture, which promotes team spirit and physical fitness in youth and emphasises promoting sports even more.
The Governor congratulated the players and organisers and expressed confidence that Sikkim players will make their identity at the national and international level as well.
The delegation assured that the Kho-Kho game will be made more popular in Sikkim through this competition and talented players will get the opportunity to advance.
