CEO Gyalshing Chairs meeting with Private School Heads under Gyalshing District
Gyalshing,March 23:A meeting with all Private School Heads under Gyalshing District was successfully convened today at the auditorium of PM SHRI Pelling Senior Secondary School under the chairmanship of Mr Pema Gyaltsen Bhutia, Chief Education Officer,Gyalshing.
The meeting was attended by the Block Education Officers/Block Heads of Yuksam,
Gyalshing, Dentam, Chongrang, and Hee-Martam.
The meeting focused on reviewing key administrative, academic, and compliance-related issues concerning private schools in the district. Emphasis was laid on timely data uploads in EMMIS,UDISE, and Aadhaar-APAR portals, along with strict adherence to registration and renewal norms.
The Chief Education Officer highlighted the importance of maintaining qualified teaching staff,especially for upper primary classes, and ensuring that all schools meet the prescribedinfrastructure standards, including safe drinking water, separate sanitation facilities, libraries,computer labs, CCTV, and adequate classroom space.
Strict compliance with the provisions of the Right to Education Act, 2009 was reiterated, particularly regarding mandatory registration and the provision of 25% free education to students fromeconomically weaker sections. Schools were also directed to submit valid building safety reports and maintain up-to-date safety certifications.
Further, schools were encouraged to promote environmental awareness through the formation of eco clubs and participation in initiatives such as “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.
The Chief Education Officer urged all school heads to strictly follow the guidelines and ensure the timely submission of reports and data. Non-compliance, it was cautioned, would invite necessary action as per existing rules and regulations.
Mr Dinesh Pradhan, Deputy Director-cum- Nodal Officer (Private Schools), also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of proper registration and the timely renewal process for all private schools.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment towards strengthening the quality of educationand ensuring compliance across all private schools in Gyalshing District.
