Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Sikkim International Film Festival to be held from 19 March 2026 to 22 March 2026 in the state.
Honorable Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang, had a glorious presence on this occasion.
Hon'ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur inaugurated this event grandly in the program.
This festival is being organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and the National Film Development Corporation.
The festival will run from 19 March 2026 to 22 March 2026, featuring well-known celebrities from home and abroad.
Hon'ble Governor explained that this festival is a unique opportunity to showcase the diverse culture of Sikkim, and the natural beauty of Sikkim and a friendly environment for filmmaking is unique across the country. This film festival will not only bring the cultural heritage of Sikkim to the world stage, but also provide new energy to local artists and the film industry.
The Sikkim government is working towards establishing the state as a major film destination through this festival.
