Inauguration of a two-day national seminar on cultural splendour and literature of North East India
Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Om Prakash Mathur gave special emphasis on education, culture conservation, and social responsibility.
Two-day national seminar on the topic "Cultural Splendor of Northeast India" was launched today in Lokbhavan Sikkim, Central Directorate of Hindi (Ministry of Education, Government of India) and Hindi Department, Sikkim University on the topic "Cultural Splendor and Literature of Northeast India" was launched today in Lokbhavan Sikkim. The program was inaugurated by Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur.
Hon'ble Governor Sir, present as the Chief Guest in the programme, congratulated the Organizers - Central Hindi Directorate and Sikkim University for this significant endeavour. This event is to preserve the cultural heritage of the North East and raise cultural awareness in the young generation. I have taken a very important step.
The Governor appealed to scholars, academics and intellectuals to give some moments of life to the society. He especially emphasised that intellectuals are responsible for taking time out of their busy routines to contribute to social service, go amongst people, establish dialogue and give some moments of their life to society, that's life, there is meaningfulness.
Hon'ble Governor emphasised the need to revive India's ancient World Guru tradition and said we must restore this glorious heritage of ours. He advocated for state-level exchange among students and said: "Students should exchange from one state to another, so they can acquaint each other's culture, tradition, language and lifestyle." This will strengthen national unity and cultural understanding.
The Governor, referring to ancient Indian educational institutions such as Nalanda and Takshashila that we should turn to them and self-think. He highlighted the renaissance of Indian culture in recent years. It is our group's responsibility to make it stronger.
The program started with national anthem and national anthem, lighting lamps, a welcome speech and various addresses. Hon'ble Governor was specially felicitated, presented with a symbol by the Central Hindi Directorate, Evansikkim University.
During this time, the Governor honored scholars from all over the country, especially from the North East. In the program, the Central Hindi Directorate presented books to the Honourable Governor, along with the inauguration of two books. In the program, a book exhibition was also organized by the Central Hindi Directorate, which was observed by the Honorable Governor.
The seminar focuses on the rich tribal cultures, literature, languages, and traditions of North East India, setting a living example of unity in diversity. Research papers will be presented by scholars in the two-day event and cultural discussions.
Prof. Shantanu Kumar Swai, Chancellor of Sikkim University and Director of the Central Hindi Directorate in the program. Hitendra Kumar Mishra, Director of the Language Department, Mr. A. D. Representatives of all languages and other dignitaries were present.
The dialogue features that scholars gathered at the entire Indian level, including eight states of northeast India and representatives of all local language of Sikkim were included.
