15 March 2026-  District level sports meet 2025-26 concluded at Gangtok, MY Bharat Gangtok under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India organised district level sports meet to celebrate the sports achievements and empower youths through sports here at Bojoghari Playground on 15 March 2026 in collaboration with DYO, NSS and other youth and sports clubs.  The program witnessed the participation of more than 100 youths and sportsperson taking part in various sports disciplines, including vollyball, football and Athletics events.
The chief guest of the sports meet, Shri Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia, hon'ble chairman of SIMFED, encouraged youths to pursue sports and remain fit for the betterment of society. He also observed the fitness and sports pledge encouraging everyone to remain physically fit, mentally strong and emotionally balanced to adopt a positive lifestyle.  Special Guests of the program includes Mangal Jakhar, Deputy Director MY Bharat Sikkim, Mr Nitesh Singh, Manager, BoI , Mr Arjun Pradhan, President Awardee, Ms Pradhan, Assistant professor, SMU, Principal PM Shri GSS School and other coaches and staffs.  The sports meet provided a platform to various students and youths to showcase their talents and exhibit the sportsman spirit.
The winners of football, volleyball, and goal scorers were encouraged with the cash prizes by the chairman of SIMFED. In football , United Bojoghari FC won the tournament while Sichey FC finished with runner up position. In vollyball Vellore SC finished as the winner of the cup while Kaijen SC finished as a runner up team. In 100 Girls, Silshila Chettri won a gold medal, Ganga Gurung won silver and Parsansha Sharma won a bronze. In 200 M, Sonam Dikki Bhutia won a gold medal, Anisha nishrin won a silver and Akriti Sharma won a bronze medal.  In boys category, Pravesh Thapa won Gold , Kaushal won silver and Tshering Sherpa finished with bronze medal. In the 200 M boys , Karan Rai won gold, Sandesh Karki won silver while Keval Rai won a bronze medal. In Tug of War, GSSS Sichey won the event. Additionally, the winners and runners were given trophies and certificates by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt of India.
The program was coordinated by Mr Diwas Chettri and Januka Sharma and moderated by Ms Kezia Chettri. As a part of Youth and sports clubs development, Sports Kits were also presented to active youth clubs during the event by the dignitaries. The event concluded with felicitation and prize distribution to winners and other participants.
