New Delhi, March 14: Department of Food Processing Industries (DoFPI), Government of Sikkim, participated in the 40th edition of AAHAR - The International Food & Hospitality Fair, jointly organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Government of India from March 10–14, 2026 at the iconic venue of Bharat Mandapam (New Delhi). AAHAR is one of Asia’s best-known brands in food and hospitality shows.
The beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprise (PMFME) scheme from various districts of Sikkim attended the event.
Under the PMFME scheme, beneficiaries displayed a range of products grown and processed locally in Sikkim, who were selected by the MoFPI. The Ministry provided individual stalls to Shri Prem Bahadur Chettri of Grow Organic Farm, Mrs Phul Maya Rai of Rutushree Masala, Mrs Homika Gurung of Aaley Oumu and Mrs Pabitra Devi Dhungel of Pavitra Achar.
Further, the representative of the State Project Monitoring Unit (SPMU) of the PMFME Division, DoFPI, also attended the event to assist & guide the participants.
Participation in AAHAR 2026 reflects Sikkim’s continued commitment to strengthening the food processing ecosystem, supporting local entrepreneurs and expanding market access for the State’s distinctive organic and Himalayan food products.
The event also served as an important platform for networking, knowledge exchange and fostering partnerships that will contribute to the growth of Sikkim’s food processing sector.
The five-day event ended successfully with many fruitful interactions with interested buyers and consumers. It was a great knowledge-sharing experience for the PMFME beneficiaries who were able to witness many innovations in the food processing sector.
